Recipes
This recipe was given to me in 1979 by a woman who never cooked, but who realized that I like to cook. She asked me to make the recipe for us. She had gotten the recipe from an elderly Hungarian woman friend of hers.

Olive oil |

Onions, sliced |

Caraway seeds |

Sweet Hungarian paprika |
| 1 1/2 lbs. |
      |
Lean beef, trimmed of fat, cut into 1" cubes |

Tomato paste |
| 2 T. |

Sugar |

Pepper |

Egg noodles |
- Sauté the onions in the melted butter and olive oil for 5 minutes.
- Mix in the caraway seeds, and cook for another minute.
- Mix in the paprika, and cook for another minute.
- Add the meat, and brown for 10 minutes.
- Mix in the tomato paste, and cook for another minute.
- Add the sugar.
- Add the salt and pepper, to taste.
- Transfer the mixture into a crockpot. Cover with water. Stir. Cook on low temperature, uncovered, for at least 6 hours.
- Serve over egg noodles.
